Description

Just like the 10 Francs coins, the 20 Francs were all minted by the Paris Mint sans mint mark. The coins dated 1907 through 1914 have all been officially restruck with no designation from the Paris Mint. Coins dated 1899 through 1906 features the edge inscription “DIEU PROTÉGÉ LA FRANCE.” In 1907, the edge inscription was changed to “LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE.” A complete set of circulation-issue French 20 Francs Roosters would be just shy of 3 ounces of pure gold.

For those who collect, invest, or stack bullion, the French Rooster series is an easy and satisfying set to complete, with even uncirculated issues bringing just slight premiums over their metallic value. If you are going to buy bullion, why not buy these coins and complete a set?

PCGS offers collectors a tool to help build, inventory, and display their collections along with allowing them to compete with others to see who can build the best sets. The PCGS Set Registry offers collectors a variety of predetermined set goals incorporating the gold 10 Francs and 20 Francs Roosters, in addition to sets of other French coins.
